Daniela Braun was born in Potsdam, Germany, and studied violin with Joachim Hantzschk and Antje Weithaas as well as string quartet with Eberhard Feltz. She is an active chamber musician with an interest not only in early and new music but also in everything in-between.
Despite Daniela’s strong dedication to the baroque violin, she enjoys crossing genre lines, which even includes using the singing saw. She performed this on stage together with singer Dagmar Manzel during a recital titled “Sehnsucht” (yearning), which was released as a CD in 2019.
Since 2011 she is member of the Glorvigen Trio, which has performed its program entitled „El Arte de la Fuga y del Tango“ in many renowned venues.
As a member of the Abraxas Quartet she was awarded a prize at the Tromp Quartet Competition in Eindhoven in 2004.
Daniela is and has been a frequent guest of the “Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin (RSB)”, the “Kammerakademie Postdam” and the “Lauttencompagney”.
She was a violin instructor for the Eastern West Divan Orchestra and accompanied the orchestra on concert tours.
After 5 years with “Staatsoper Unter den Linden” Daniela joined “Komische Oper Berlin” as concertmaster of the second violins in 2011. Since then she has performed many outstanding concerts together with Christoph. We are now thrilled to be performing together as the Max Brod Trio!
